Rewrite[edit]

I am going to try and rewrite a lot of this article. The English, in some places, is pretty bad and there are bits that seem out of place. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Mr.Apples2010 (talk) 21:58, 19 May 2010 (UTC) I have one: get rid of the breaks in the description of the fights for no apparent reason (the ones in the table, not the text). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.44.101.85 (talk) 20:21, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

first career loss[edit]

how come his first career lost to antonio margarito is not included in his record table? he has 2 losses, but the table only has 1? †Bloodpack† 05:01, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

People tend to make these tables without finishing them, I think it looks better without them though. Mr.Apples2010 (talk) 17:20, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sergio Martínez (boxer)Sergio Martínez – Request to remove "(boxer)" from article title. Relisted. BDD (talk) 18:34, 20 August 2013 (UTC) --TwoNyce 20:59, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: Well none of that made any sense to me right now. But you since you appear to sound so smart why does Danny García article get a pass?? C'com now. Same situation Danny Garcia without the suffix "í" redirects to Daniel Garcia disambiguatuon. And by looks of Sergio Daniel Martínez the article doesn't appear to be very popular. And I highly doubt anyone who is searching for Sergio Martinez is lookin for sum "Uruguayan" football player. No way "Sergio Martínez" should redirect to a disambiguatuon page with articles of people who don't even have that "í" suffix in there name. -- TwoNyce 23:34, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My comment was solely based on the fact that in your first post you neither gave any clear reason nor evidence why you wanted to rename the page and remove "(boxer)" from the article title. This is stated in the instructions for requested page moves. So I gave my own reasons for opposing at this time. As for your question about the Danny García article, please also read the essay Wikipedia:Other stuff exists, where it explains that something that occurs in one situation may not necessarily apply to others. Specifically, there was a a previous move discussion, where someone cited actual page view stats of the "Danny Garcia" articles. Thus, all I was asking here is for actual evidence too. What is the basis for your conclusion that the Sergio Daniel Martínez article is "not popular", or what proof do you have that it is significantly more likely that people searching for "Sergio Martinez" is definitely looking for the boxer? Otherwise, this page should default to a redirect to accommodate the vast users around the globe whose keyboards do not have, or do not have easy access to, a "í" key (with the accent) and thus have to use the "i" key (without the accent) instead (see also the third paragraph of Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English)#Modified letters). I need proof -- not unsupported reasons, especially if they do not take into account that Wikipedia is an international encyclopedia with readers across the globe. • Oppose - on the basis of the snarky "but since you appear to sound so smart" answer to User:Zzyzx11 above, after that why would anyone take this Requested Move seriously. TwoNyce, be nice. In any case this is a malformed multi request, and for a move to Sergio Martínez (disambiguation) all 4 articles would require move notification. • Partial Support I think he has become the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Someone should show the article traffic statistics or a WP:GOOGLETEST to support the move. I don't think the accent is used in English language reliable sources when writing about Sergio Martinez so we should not use it here.--Don King's hair (talk) 19:21, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
