Shree Rama Temple is a Hindu temple situated in Triprayar in Thrissur district of Kerala state in India.This temple observes SETHUBANDHANAM , in "Thiruvonam" day of Malayalam month "Kanni" (September- October) in every year.[1] Sreeraman Chira(bund) inextricably associated with the omnipotent revered God Lord Sree Rama of Thriprayar, in Thrissur district of Kerala, is a sprawling paddy field cluster in the Vadakkummuri village of Thannyam Panchayath in Thrissur Tehsil. From this place to Guruvayoor Sreekrishna Temple, it takes 24 kilometers. And the same distance is towards Trichur Vadakkunnatha Temple and Irinjalakuda Koodalmankikyam Temple.

Sree Raman ‘Chira’, especially the ‘Chirakettonam’ ceremony reminiscent of the sethubandhanam (bridging India and Lanka) of Ramayana fame, is an integral part of the haloed Thriprayar Sree Rama swamy temple in letter and spirit. “Chira kettal” (binding of the bund) is a much awaited cum heralded annual ritual. Actually, men and material, like bamboo, coconut leaves, soil/clay etc. were gracefully and munificently provided by Thriprayar thevar (God Sree Rama) to construct the bund. Workers, initially belonged to the backward ‘Paraya’ community, the responsibility fell on the vettuva community Thriprayar thevar, also revered for his benign nature, was keen to uplift the downtrodden and give a face lift to farming activity.
