The verb "to plead"[edit]

@Shortsword: Regarding this edit: [1] First, that's not a minor edit. Please don't mark it as such. And please include an edit summary.

Second, what is your intention here? The action took place in the past, in August 2003. That calls for past tense. The past tense of "plead" is "pleaded". Are you thinking of "pled"? That's an acceptable alternate. I don't like it, because it's less common, and worse is irregular. If you insist on "pled" I won't argue. But "plead" is just plain wrong here.

Verb forms and conjugations of "to plead": [2][3][4][5] GA-RT-22 (talk) 01:06, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@GA-RT-2T2: Thank you for pointing out an obvious mistake. Yes, I read plead as pled, Senior Moment, I guess. Pleaded sounds VERY strange to me. I realize it is a valid paste tense form for plead, but would have thought it was the less commonly used form, and pled the more commonly used. I wonder if it is a regional difference.
