Entry states "Shaftesbury Avenue was the birth place of Cat Stevens" however, as far as I can tell, this is not what is stated under the Cat Stevens Entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Testingnessomg (talkcontribs) 22:25, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Photo Date?[edit]

1949? I don't know British cars well, but the ones in the picture don't look much like autos from the 1940s. They have a 1920s appearance to my uninformed eye. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.118.23.40 (talk) 18:49, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That picture does indeed appear to be from 1949. It is a photo taken by Chalmers Butterfield when he visited London in 1949. See [1] for more information. Seaweed (talk) 14:03, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They all look like London "black cab" taxis, which are very conservative. This one was a brand new model in 1948, with the previous Austin London Taxicab no doubt still common. The 1920s didn't have coloured photos. Johnbod (talk) 16:16, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
