  • Hi User talk:GiantSnowman. An editor who I see you have had a conversation with has repeatedly, just again now here (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Shaul_Gordon&diff=1098694642&oldid=1098674535), deleted perfectly proper and supported and non-copyvio text along with refs. I tried to communicate here. He claims copyright .. and then deletes proper material like "won competition x, earned a silver medal in competition y, attended school z, eared a degree in school a" - and I can't even show you what the material was because it was hidden (maybe you can see it?). It obviously is not copyvio. My trying to communicate with him and address his concern only led to more of this from him. It only led to more deleting. I don't want to simply go back and forth with him. He clearly has no good reason for this. And he seems very experienced, so that does not seem to be the problem. Can you help? Thanks. --2603:7000:2143:8500:C04F:3A57:16F5:9C37 (talk) 04:37, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have explained to this user, on my talk page, why intervening versions of the article had to be deleted and hidden, as long as there was still copyrighted material in the article. This meant that several dozen edits had to be reverted and hidden - namely, all the edits made between when the problem material was put in the article and when it was deleted. The intervening edits may not have been copyvio in themselves, but they were on a page that contained copyvio material, and so they had to be reverted. -- MelanieN (talk) 21:33, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
