Dear Wikipedia volunteers: Greetings! I am currently creating a draft article for Shawn Yu Lin who is a faculty member at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). As a first point, and in the interest of full disclosure, I would like to disclose: I am a faculty colleague of Shawn Lin. He is in the School of Science, whereas I am in the School of Engineering. We have a few joint publications dating back about 10 years. We have not collaborated or interacted socially during the last 5 years. I believe that he is a notable researcher and may well meet Wikipedia's notability standard. I am disclosing this information, in order to meet Wikipedia's ethical standards.
