Guantanamo Detainee work[edit]

The work on behalf of detainees is minor, non-lucrative and hardly relevant to understanding the firm. If no one objects I will move it to a new article and include more information on the firm's practice areas and history. Mediterraneo (talk) 14:39, 17 February 2008 (UTC) --User:Mediterraneo[reply]

I object. It's not sufficiently notable to merit its own article, and it is redundant with several other articles. It belongs here, but pared down for WP:WEIGHT purposes. THF (talk) 22:50, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

General article balance[edit]

This article reads as though it has been extracted from marketing materials distributed to attract clients to the firm of Shearman & Sterling LLP. The article seems too long and needs to be condensed. References and citations should be added throughout and the article should be re-written to remove its "spam" like elements. --Calabraxthis 18:16, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiariasm[edit]

Having just performed a search of the website maintained by Shearman & Sterling LLP, it appears as though much of the information in the article has been "cut and pasted" from this source alone, viz. Shearman & Sterling website. I am unsure whether this constitutes "copyright infringement" as the general unbalanced tone of the article indicates that it was probably sanctioned by the firm in question as marketing material. In any event, this article is in need of a substantial re-write in order to imbue it with encyclopaedic qualities.--Calabraxthis 22:35, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lock article?[edit]

This article has recently been bombarded by edits from SPA accounts. These edits resemble or are literally copy-pasted from the firm's marketing content on its website. I think it may be helpful to lock this article and make these SPAs address or recommend their changes in the talk page rather than point-blank editing the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Histnewbie (talkcontribs) 19:08, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
