Merge proposal[edit]

  • Oppose The articles clearly state that one is a musical instrument and the other a style of music. They should remain separate. What's next, merging afoxé and afoxê? mvc (talk) 18:43, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge I added the merge template to Sekere, since it hadn't been done. The Sekere article does mention that the instrument is also called sekere, so it isn't JUST a musical style. Having the multiple spellings in one place sounds like a good idea to me, especially if there are redirects at the alternative spellings. --VikÞor | Talk 23:24, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I think a disambiguation page would be more appropriate. If a user types either Shekere or Sekere in, they can be directed to the disambiguation page and then see Shekere (Musical Instrument) and Sekere (Musical Style) Tim (talk) 21:47, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose One article each (the instrument and the style) with a note at the top linking to the other article. Merging would be like merging Synthesizer and electronica. Totnesmartin (talk) 21:27, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
