Untitled[edit]

I have suggested that the two articles on the forks of the the Shenandoah be merged with this article (as per format of Potomac River and its branches). They are considered to be part of the Shenandoah and therefore I believe should all be on one page. Unless there is a disagreement about this I will merge the pages in one month. Caves[edit]

I added a section to geography on caves. I note here that the information about Mosby's cave, while it accurately reflects the book cited, is (to me) suspect. I have not been able to square it with other accounts of Mosby's rangers.ElijahBosley (talk) 22:26, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Source elevation[edit]

The source location is listed as Front Royal, where the North and South forks converge, but the source elevation is listed as 305 meters, which is much higher than Front Royal (where the forks converge the elevation is 140 meters). I figure the source elevation listed is the elevation of the source of one of the branches, but in any case, the source location and elevation should match. What is the best practice for listing the source of a river with multiple branches? Edward Rice (talk) 03:14, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've expanded the Geobox to add the forks, and a source confluence, so that separate elevations can be added. It follows how it has been done elsewhere such as the Feather River...Jokulhlaup (talk) 09:13, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is a meme river[edit]

I just felt that the article should reflect the fact that this is a popular river among meemerz. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.192.114.31 (talk) 17:26, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In culture: Should be "Runabout" not "Shuttle"[edit]

Hate to be a nit-picky Star Trek nerd here, but the article states "An episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, continuing the tradition of naming their shuttles after rivers, has a shuttle named Shenandoah.", when these are technically called Runabouts--not shuttles.
