educational qualification - a second look[edit]

It should be noted that being a monk does not mean one should not and cannot study subjects other than health care management, philosophy included.

Anyone can study anything for one's interest, it does not necessarily mean one will need to embark on a career change etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.234.0.21 (talk) 17:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Educational Qualifications Concerns[edit]

I do not share your concern regarding monks pursuing higher education as I believe there is no cause for it. I am personally not aware that monks are proscecuted for pursuing higher education in Singapore or in any other countries.

In relation to your first remark, I believe your concern will be alleviated if you referred to some of the reports by the Singapore newspapers. A number of these are available online. You will then find that none of them implied a monk "should not and cannot" pursue higher education in their area of interests. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.250.6.247 (talk) 12:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
