General readability, encyclopedic content[edit]

An example from the article: "this piece was EF which sold for 61 gbp during the 1850s Thornburn"

I'm not a coin collector - but I shouldn't *need* to be a coin collector to read about "the shilling" in an encyclopedia. That is to say, numismatic jargon should be eliminated from the article, or if it's really necessary to use it, it should be explained at the first use.

It also seems to me that estimated valuations of items, and analysis of the current market conditions for those items, might be non-encyclopedic because they seem like original research - unless those trends and figures are quoted from authoritative publications, and even then I'm not convinced that that buyer's-guide type of information belongs in an encyclopedia. (It's quite different from reporting how much a famous diamond or a Picasso has sold for, because those items are notable in themselves - obviously something that's not true of most individual coins.)
