Hello, I am planning to review this article for GA over the coming days. - adamstom97 (talk) 00:34, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked over the previous GA review and peer review. Though it does look like those concerns have been addressed, I think there are still some issues that need fixing before this can be promoted to GA. See my comments below. - adamstom97 (talk) 00:02, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Adamstom.97: I've fixed up mostly everything based on your suggestions, I'll get around to adding more to the reception soon but that section is relatively difficult to fix due to the lack of Japanese reviews online, and can't find any articles that summarize the critical response of the film in depth. See what you can do, and if you really can't find what we need then we can discuss options. - adamstom97 (talk) 00:31, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you find the new edits I made to the Critical response section acceptable for the GA btw? Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 04:42, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The theme section is good but probably doesn't need a heading, just combining the two paragraphs should suffice. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:59, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've added something on the Japanese reviews one source stated, and I've already got some info from a Japanese review on the page, which I think will be enough until someone can dive deeper into Japanese resources. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 03:50, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think the article is looking a lot more balanced now that the reception section work has been done. Good job with all of your changes, and with putting together such a good article. I am happy to pass this review now. Congratulations. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:56, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

  • The references you have in the lead are mostly for things that are or should be sourced in the body of the article. It is preferred that you make sure the content is already in an appropriate section below and then you don't need to have the references in the lead again.
  • "Hideaki Anno choose the katakana for Shin in the film's title" -> "Hideaki Anno chose the katakana for Shin in the film's title"
  • "A reimagining of Ultraman" - can you please explain what Ultraman is here (i.e. that it is a 1966 television series)?
  • I think it is WP:UNDUE to mention the other films in the Shin Japan Heroes Universe in the opening of the lead, and I don't think you want to have to update this list every time a new film is added to the universe. Linking to the universe's page should suffice.
  • I would avoid using specific dates in the lead except for the release date, generally the month is specific enough for the high-level overview.
  • You have a long list of things about the film that were praised or criticised that is supported by several sources. See my comments under Reception below for how this should be handled.

Plot[edit]

  • Can you please clarify what the "Ministry" is?
  • There should not be a single sentence paragraph at the end of the summary.

Production and release[edit]

  • Can you please paraphrase this to not rely on quotes: Higuchi said that the crew "immediately ran into a practical problem" during development, because the film "didn't have as big a budget as those American MonsterVerse films." Thus, they "couldn't really destroy the world like they did" and instead "tried to compensate by coming up with a uniquely appealing screenplay and really interesting characters."
  • I don't think you should say "by the late", the fact that he is not alive anymore isn't really relevant in this context.
  • "Gabora" -> "and Gabora"
  • You should move the CG / CGI link to be with its first use, not just in the VFX section
  • The editing section should either be expanded or merged with one of the other sections
  • "The first ten minutes of the film were uploaded to Toho's YouTube channel on June 24, 2022, but were removed after 48 hours." - this seems more appropriate for the Marketing section.

Themes and reception[edit]

  • "Thus, the film grossed approximately $34,425,071 worldwide." - needs a source
  • I appreciate that you have cut down on the quotes in the Reception section per the previous reviews, but I think it is too small now compared to the rest of the article. Try to expand this with more reviews and details, particularly Japanese reviews if possible.
  • This applies to the Reception section and the summary of reception in the lead. We want to avoid synthesising a summary of the film's reception from a few sources. You should try find articles that give a summary of the reception themselves and use that. See MOS:FILMCRITICS for more.
  • Considering how small the Themes and Reception sections are, I think it makes sense to combine these.
  • The Screen Daily quote comes up as a possible copyvio issue in Earwig, can you do some paraphrasing for that as well?

Other sections[edit]

  • The miniseries table does not need references if all you are doing is referencing the episodes themselves. It is common for television articles to use the episode table details as implicit references.
  • I don't think you should have the See also section as these are already linked throughout the article.

General[edit]

  • You shouldn't use "fall", "Autumn", or "summer" as a specific time of year per MOS:SEASON
  • For instances where you have multiple in-line citations beside each other it is good to have them in the order of the number (i.e. "Personnel are taken from Toho's official website, the film's theater pamphlet, and Anime News Network.[66][1][64]" -> "Personnel are taken from Toho's official website, the film's theater pamphlet, and Anime News Network.[1][64][66]").
  • References are looking good, I appreciate that you have archives for web citations. Can you just make sure there aren't any unnecessary capital letters in the references?
  • Images are good.
