An explanation of what the lyrics say and what the video adds to the lyrics[edit]

The lyrics are absurdist and attempt to clarify the meaning of title. For example:

Well the Shoop Shoop stands for the mood you're in And the Diddy Wop means let the fun begin It's a feeling gonna set your senses reeling and you can't sit still Cumma Cumma mean what you thought, That's right And the Wang Dang gonna get you through the night time Baby there's a right time if you wanna lose control

The title and chorus is therefore about the stages of sexual attraction when meeting someone at the disco.. it makes it clear "Wang Dang" refers to physical closeness such as close dancing.

The song is about the perils of meeting someone for the first time at a disco or bar ,and this in particulare event, being tricked by transvestites or transsexuals into thinking they are normal female , and the pressure to have sex with the person even when you have decided you do not like them.

The basic plot is that he meets an attractive female at the disco, but when he gets close, he finds he dislikes her and would prefer to not to go home with (or have sex with) that person. However, there is pressure on him to not overtly or roughly reject the other person, he has to make excuses or distractions to try to cool off the other person.

The videos for both versions makes it clear that he has unknowingly met a transvestite or transsexual. Once he gets physically close to he other person, he gets scared and dislikes them, but his partner is very aggressive toward progressing things. Other transvestites/transsexuals in the bar put pressure on the subject, with stares and mannerisms suggestive of threats of violence, and so the subject cannot reject this person .. and so goes he does go home with them.

Neither video or lyric indicate if the subject has correctly determined "her" sexual status and does not tell us if sex then occurs or if the subject was partial to gay sex or not previously.
