Examples of actual show tunes??[edit]

Shouldn't this article list actual show tunes?? It seems to me that musical theater lovers think it's unfair for just one song to be known out of an entire musical, and so they want to force the reader to visit the entire musical's article. And it IS unfair, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an encyclopedia and it's not supposed to be fair, it's supposed to INFORM. What would you think if you visited the article for #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 and instead of a useful list, you found "Artists who have had their songs peak the Billboard Hot 100". RETARDED, RIGHT? Gosh! --Plavalagunanbanshee (talk) 21:39, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When show tunes ruled the Earth...[edit]

Why did the last paragraph change from citing the "forties" to the "sixties" as the end of the era when show tunes dominated the pop charts (in an edit dated 00:50, 6 January 2009) ? I'm sure the 40's (possibly the 50's, but definitely not the 60's) is a more accurate date. There's no citation with this, but the list of composers in that same paragraph are all composers whose heydays came before the 50's and 60's. Pagalloway (talk) 07:00, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
