Biography Section[edit]

The article presents good information about Sidney Janis, but I don't see any citations, particularly in the "Beginnings" and "Collecting" subsections of his "Biography." There's a lot of information but no cited sources.

The article also doesn't address a lot of his life and instead just focuses on his time as an art collector. While that is what he is known for, as a biography page dedicated to Sidney Janis, there should be more information about his life aside from his time as an art collector. Especially considering the section about his gallery, which is its own article, is longer and more extensive than information about him in particular.

I see many citations? You are making the mistake of considering Janis and his gallery independent entities. While Sidney Janis was a collector, he is best known as a pioneering art dealer and champion of Modern and post war art.His activities and interests as a collector were manifested similarly in his role as a gallerist and dealer. That is they are intertwined and the original Sidney and Harriet Janis collection formed in the 1930s forecast the aesthetic of the Sidney Janis Gallery, an enterprise of the man himself. The article could certainly be expanded -indeed he rates a full length bniography - however, there are many key points in his life that are touched upon.
