Is it just me or is this woman an Icelandic version of Gwen Stefani.

I think it's more accurate to compare her as a musical version of Sasha Cohen - i.e. someone that doesn't know they've taken their joke/parody waaaaay too far.

I love her! She's superb!

She has cautivated me. I am from Spain. And also liked Lordi but I'm smart enough to know that Silvia Night is a character. Her performance is superb, a very good satiric interpretation.

Citation needed for "fictional character"?

I briefly browsed the official site of Silvía Night, and couldn't find the information that she is a fictional character there (neither did I expect to). It's a fairly important bit of information, so if anyone could provide a citation for it, I think it would be good.

Stating the TV show the character is from is enough, is it not? It's really obvious. This is like you going to a movie site and looking for confirmation and that the characters in the movie are actually fictional. Daniel 00:26, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Well in Greece her behaviour was first subject in all channels. Two clues :

NOBODY mentioned that the journalist was fake
This journalist did not appear to ANY channel to make any comments about this

In Greece journalists *RULE*. I mean they are superior to politicians. If anyone ANYONE dares to touch (or even annoy) a journalist the next day he will be called FASCIST ANTI-DEMOCRAT. If the offender is a politician he will NEVER be re-elected. If it is Silvia Night... well.. she will not make it to the finals. The journalist will be proclaimed the "heroic fighter of freedom of speecc etc. etc." and will be in EVERY Channel. Well the offended one did never appear anywhere. This means either that the journalist acknowledged greek reality OR that it was part of the show. Greek journalists are smart enough bastards to let the subject go as it is. It makes journalists to appear more heroic. That is what they want. You see I added the lines

"During the press conference she ordered the journalists not to look her in the eyes. One of them did and she ordered her bodyguard to take her out. The bodyguard obeyed and carried the journalist ..."

and just today I read the newest version and it occured to me

" Those bastards ! THey have been lying all the time !"
This is typical of Greek journalists. They DO lie all the time. and if they get caught lying:

Well enough of Greek bullshit. I don't lnow whether a Greek's opinion of the subject counts as a citation but I tried to explain how the cituation is. If she WAS real she would be today a "HERO OF THE MEDIA" in Greek TV. Well she is not.

Lyrics in Eurovision Song

If you watch the video again at www.youtube.com, in the middle of the song she says: "Oh my god! It's a golden shower!!", while golden ribbons fall onto her head. Yeah well, that was by far the softest of what she said. Language such as "Fucking ugly old bitch", constant "fuck you" and "fucking this and that" to random people can by no means be justified as the result of "acting". It just shows no intelligence. Non NPOV used

The Controversies are written as her simply acting. This cant be verified unless Silvia Nott actually says it was all a role (which I dont believe she has done).

That being said, a NPOV would be to consider Sylvia Night as a person and not a charachter and to make out her actions as real until it can be proved or until she admits it was all an act.

An anon occasionally comes and deletes the link to the Greek unofficial site, and usually comments with 'ante apo dw mwrh patsavoura' (or variations) which means in Greek 'go away, with this slut', logically for her tantrum in Greece. In this section, it is stated that she was supposedly offending Greece and its people. I can get Greece, but she did offend the people; she called them names, and it doesn't matter if the insult wasn't about their ethnicity, as it is still an insult.--Orthologist 22:32, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Use of last name

it's a patronym. Read the article on Icelandic naming conventions. It's not considered informal at all to refer to Icelanders by their first names, the patronym is merely a mean of distinguishing this Eva from all the other Eva's out there. This convention is already respected on other biographies of Icelanders on Wikipedia.
