Naming Cleanup[edit]

Time to clean up this page some. Propose changing the name to SIMULIA, and setting up redirects. Perhaps even an outright merge with the Abaqus page? I'm not sure the SIMULIA needs page, being just a brand. Abaqus (the product) certainly does, however. - EndingPop (talk) 16:41, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. As a WP:COI (I'm an employee of CST, a company acquired SIMULIA), I'm posting this here.

  • Information to be added or removed:

The entire "Abaqus product suite" section duplicates the content at Abaqus, and is too promotional. Instead, a simple list of the different software that SIMULIA sells (certainly not just Abaqus), with links to the appropriate Wikipedia articles where they exist, would probably serve users better:

  • Explanation of issue:

I agree that the article currently reads too much like an advert, and is very out of date. Users would get more out of a straightforward technical description of the products than the current sales pitch - many already have Wikipedia articles which can be linked to.

  • Reference: "About SIMULIA". Retrieved 19 October 2018.

  Edit request declined

  1. A simple list of what the company sells is not appropriate for the article, per WP:NOTACATALOG.
  2. If these products are to be included, they should be added as prose with accompanying context explaining their significance, as well as references from WP:SECONDARY sources.
