I can see from here that I will probably not end up passing this. I will just point out some general issues at the moment. I am tempted to quick-fail it, but if substantial improvements are made in the next week or two I will go through the article in more detail.

"Alongside "If I Were a Boy", the song was released as the album's lead single to U.S. radio on October 8, 2008. The song was later released to other international markets as the album's second single after her worldwide hit "If I Were a Boy"." - that is a confusing opening. How was it released first and second? Both with and after "If I Were a Boy"?
'#1' should be 'number one'
References in the lead are discouraged. the lead should summarise the article, and not introduce any new facts. Therefore, info in the lead should be referenced in the body of the article
Some sections, such as 'Background and composition', 'Release and promotion' and 'Awards and recognitions' contain few references and fail Wikipedia's verifiability policy
Quotes especially should always be followed by a citation
Chart performance is too long and mentions irrelevant details
The prose is quite choppy, particularly in the 'Cultural impact' section
The article needs a very good copy-edit for grammar, flow and readability

I tried to stop this, but nominator reverted me (even s/he is not the main contributor). S/He is not active and I really doubt s/he wiil, and I have no time at moment for improve this, if you believe it should be quick failed (because I do), feel free.
