December 2009[edit]

From my talk page:

Hi, some points to your edits: Rayment and ThePeerage are generally considered reliable sources, used by several admins and two wikiprojects on thousands of articles (see for example the standard templates {{Rayment}} and {{Lundy}} as well as Wikipedia:WikiProject_UK_Parliament_constituencies#Resources and Wikipedia:WikiProject_Peerage_and_Baronetage#Sources_of_Information). I believe there was even a discussion about this somewhere, but I'm apparently unable to locate it. I noted also that you have removed Aston's burial place; may I ask you why? Finally not everybody is familiar with the abbreviation MP, so to write the term out in full is the more clear and in my view the more presentable solution (see also Wikipedia:Manual of Style (abbreviations)). Not fussed about MP, did not intend to remove Aston's burial place. Not convinced about the web sites, they are not reliable sources as they are web sites and self published. I see no point in them as there are reliable sources which cover the information. -- PBS (talk) 23:53, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The major problem with the article at the moment is that he names and dates of the battles are wrong (The source used has confused the start of year and therefore the year of the first battle see Old Style and New Style dates). I am in the process of cleaning the DNB text on wikisource for this man when I have finished it I'll import it into this article and fix a lot of these problems. -- PBS (talk) 00:03, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I have replaced the two web sites you are uncomfortable with with Cokayne's The Complete Baronetage. I hope this will resolve one issue. ~~ Phoe talk ~~ 10:56, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
