Sister Jean Marie Renfro's book is entitled Planted by Running Water and is pretty hard for outsiders to get a copy of. It's also a little challenging for outsiders to read, as it is directed to members of the society. The first half covers the history of Hungary from mythic origins to 1923. The second half of the book covers the history of The Social Mission Society (founded by Edith Farkas) up till the time that a schism formed and the future founders of the SSS left the Social Mission Society. It does not cover the founding or history of the Sisters of Social Service except by occasional reference. Mellen22 (talk) 02:55, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Add to this entry[edit]

I would like to suggest that members of this organization (such as myself) add to the wiki site and include references. For example, comments from our website which add value and info to this could be used and cited, as well as citations from Sister Jean Marie Renfro's book on the subject.

The SSS in Canada, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania have websites as well. As the information shared becomes more specific to the areas currently Sssoregon (talk) 01:39, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
