Proposed Rename[edit]

Noting that the representative body for those who provide this service is "The International In-Flight Security Officer Committee (IIFSOC)", can i commend a rename of this article to match, i.e. to 'In-flight security officer (IFSO)'? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Somersetlevels (talkcontribs)

@Somersetlevels: I'd suggest starting a proposal by following the instructions at WP:RM. Daß Wölf 14:38, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Daß Wölf: Uncontroversial technical request initiated

The proposed rename to 'In-flight security officer (IFSO)' (an Official Name, from a Primary Source) was rejected as it was felt that 'Sky marshal' better fulfilled WP:COMMONNAME due to it's currency in Secondary Sources. A redirect page of In-flight security officer (IFSO) has therefore been created.Somersetlevels (talk) 23:16, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sky marshalIn-flight security officer – The representative body for those who provide this service is "The International In-Flight Security Officer Committee (IIFSOC)", so it is logical to rename this article to match, rather than use a colloquiallism that only applies to some countries Somersetlevels (talk) 11:05, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think it does and contest the move on those grounds. The other title should redirect to the current title.--John Cline (talk) 13:31, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
