Notable for Open source software?[edit]

I don't really consider a company notable for its open-source software just because it has some. I would say that it would be notable if its software were widely used or known, or the company had some other merit beyond just that. I don't know. They make music gadgets. They license their software under the GPL. I'm not saying the company is particularly notable, just that in as so far as is it notable, its open distribution is one thing for which it's noted. Is the software for the slimserver still open source? The EULA for the new slimserver does not allow one to modify or distribute derivative works. See http://www.slimdevices.com/eula.html

Notable for "audiophile" stance[edit]

Hi, I'm not really an expert on the company or its products but it seems to me looking at their marketing that they are trying to be notable for a focus on music quality and offering digital audio streaming solutions for people who might consider themselves "audiophiles".

They suggest that the quality of components used and design are aimed to deliver a better than cd player solution to people looking for a wireless media playing product.

Maybe an expert could check and confirm if this is true?

First sentence -> past tense[edit]

First sentence should probably read "Slim Devices, Inc. *was* a consumer electronics company..." As of today (30 Jan 2013) The Logitech web site product pages no longer contain any mention of the Slim Devices brand.
