A picture could be handy[edit]

So is this correct ? And if it's correct, isn't there a name for the MTA between smart host and mda ?

without smarthost:
MAILCLIENT FROM SENDER---smtp---> MTA FROM SENDER----------smtp---------->MDA FROM RECEIVER---pop3--->MAILCLIENT FROM RECEIVER

with smarthost:
MAILCLIENT FROM SENDER---smtp--->SMART HOST FROM SENDER---smtp--->MTA---smtp--->MDA FROM RECEIVER---pop3--->MAILCLIENT FROM RECEIVER

Or is this one correct:

MAILCLIENT FROM SENDER---smtp--->MTA FROM SENDER--smtp-->SMART HOST-->MDA FROM RECEIVER---pop3--->MAILCLIENT FROM RECEIVER

why 'smart'?[edit]

Very poor English[edit]
