Isn't listing (in this article) the smear tactics used against living persons a smear tactic itself? As in, "Guess what I heard about so and so?" Asburyparker (talk) 19:54, 8 June 2018 (UTC)

Potentially, yes. It seems also to raise NPOV questions to label any specific allegation part of a 'smear campaign'. For example, the article currently states 'Brad Pitt was the target of a smear campaign related to his child custody dispute' - he might have claimed so, but stating it as plain fact seems itself like a smear against the 'other side' (presumably his ex-wife Angelina Jolie).
