This article "Sociology of revolution" is translation of my article "Социология революции" in Russian Wikipedia: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BE%D1%86%D0%B8%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%B8%D1%8F_%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%BB%D1%8E%D1%86%D0%B8%D0%B8

I couldn't find the English edition of the book of Pitirim Sorokin " Sociology of revolution" that I could make a refernce in this article "Sociology of revolution" to this English edition of the book.

Therefore I referred on the Russian edition of the book of Sorokin in the my list of the Main works only.

It is my first article in English Wikipedia. I Russian on a nationality. I live in Russia in the Urals. I translate badly from Russian into English therefore I will be grateful for the help of participants in correction of spelling errors in my article.

I write as I am able. If you decide to delite this my article, that it is your right. If there were no articles about Sociology of revolution in English Wikipedia before me, it means that nobody could state this theory better than I. And I wash hands. Value of the book of Sorokin "Sociology of Revolution" consists in the following. The Russian people paid the huge price for October revolution and communistic experiment. Millions of people were lost in Russia because of October revolution and communistic experiment. Revolution and socialism shouldn't repeat in Russia in the future. Sorokin's opinion about value of revolution is stated in a question "Is Revolution good or bad? ". Sorokin considered that revolution is severe social illness, which can lead to death of social organism suddenly, that revolution is the worse method of an improvement of the life of masses. I have nothing to add to it. Do I have to merge itself own article "Sociology of revolution" with article "Pitirim Sorokin"? I am ready to make it. But my article "Sociology of Revolution" has too large volume. I am ready to add in the article "Pitirim Sorokin" a statement of the contents of Sorokin's book "Social and Cultural Mobility" even. These two theories of Sorokin are great theories which are underestimated in the American sociology. For example, there is no mention of these theories and name of Sorokin in modern American textbooks on sociology of such authors, as Neil Smelser and John J. Macionis. Do Americans respect Sorokin or not? Though Sorokin was the President of the American Sociological Association. In my opinion, Sorokin's third theory (Socio-cultural dynamics) is a delirium therefore I don't want to state this third theory of Sorokin in the article "Pitirim Sorokin". If you consider that my style of compositions is bad, that you need to look for other author who will be able to improve my bad style as I know English badly and I cann't improve my style.Valery Staricov (talk) 14:51, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have the 1925 J.B. Lippincott printing of the English language version of the book. Unfortunately, unlike the Russian language book, there's no e-book and it's been out of print for nearly a hundred years. I haven't read the Russian version, so I'm not certain how much differs, but I'll read the article over and put page cites when I get the chance. Cheers. English cleanup[edit]

This article needs serious English language cleanup. Some parts are completely incomprehensible and certain terms, like the "Centenary War" (Hundred Year's War) are clearly direct translations made without regard for correct English language terminology.
