Infobox[edit]

I'm less familiar with standards for YouTube information within infoboxes. Should there be sources to verify the years active, genre, subscribers, and total views fields? ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:45, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Cascadia2000, Armadillopteryx, Naraht, and Gleeanon409: Pinging in case you're familiar. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:49, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not aware of any YouTube infobox-specific sourcing rules that diverge/exceed the standard ones, but I would think the same general rules of thumb apply: secondary sources always preferred, but for something as trivial as the number of current subscribers, the channel page itself should be acceptable. It’s rare that much of that is covered in reliable sources unless that’s the RS’s focus; remember that YouTube remains a competitor to many of them.
If you’re lucky one will mention it, and you can time date it, and compare to whatever the current stats. Otherwise just cite the channel or individual video of the subject. Gleeanon409 (talk) 03:55, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
