Because of a fire in one of the trolleys, all Riga's Solaris trolleybuses were returned (I read somewhere that between 2001–2004 all in all 65 had been acquired). Pity that I can't remember the source, but it was in a trolleybus-related interest page. -Mardus 16:13, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My bad, I confused Solarises with AKSM's (from Byelorus). Anyway, I found the source[1], but the page's JavaScript redirects to the gallery page, where images are not clickable, unless there's a frameset. Go to http://public-transport.net/bus/Trolley.htm , see where Riga I is in the left frame, choose Overview I, then in the right frame gallery, fourth image from second row and then see a caption under the image. The text on the source URL is nicely visible with Lynx, though ;). -Mardus 16:34, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Company ownership?[edit]

Looking through the press releases of CAF and Solaris about the acquisition, both the Solaris release, and the CAF release say that CAF acquired 100% of the shares, but later proceed to add that the Polish Development Fund obtained 35%. It seems to be unclear what the final ownership is. MKH1020 (talk) 20:13, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MKH1020, it seems clear that CAF sold 35% of its assets to the Fund, but keeping ultimately the bulk of the assets and control of the company. Iñaki LL (talk) 22:37, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
