Piano vs Harpsichord[edit]

I changed "piano" to "keyboard". Can anyone verify the instrument for which this was actually written? (I suspect this is a harpsichord piece that has been miscategorized in modern listings, as is most of his father's harpsichord work.)70.179.20.157 (talk) 07:40, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to agree with that; on the whole, this article (and the piece it describes) isn't exceptionally significant. If I were bolder, I would nominate it for deletion. I know I ought to improve the article instead of griping about it, but a few Google searches later turn up nothing but amateur recordings and pirated sheet music. Anyone know some good studies on CPE Bach? Maybe those could come in handy for this article. Danny Sepley (talk) 05:09, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tempo[edit]

I added the specific tempo of the piece -- It notates this as "Presto" on my copy, though I've seen multiple performances at a faster tempo; hence the note about Prestissimo. Webwyre (talk) 13:04, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The piece is intended to be performed as fast as you can do it and maintain enough control to play it cleanly with the intended dynamics and feeling. It's why some think of it as a tocatta.
