Claymore?[edit]

I've edited this to the more specific Basket-hilted claymore which is the standard Royal Regiment of Scotland sword and used in Highland dancing. The mental image of officers in dress uniform dragging around a monstrous two-handed Claymore was too much to bare. --Panzer71 (talk) 19:53, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No it's not diverse[edit]

Whatever this unit's history and actions, the name change is the erasure of a minority culture in South Africa. Even its motto is in a language only spoken by a few tens of thousands.

I realise SA wants to get away from apartheid and white rule, but Scots are still an ethnic minority even within the UK.

I have no idea what this comment is referring to. It is unsigned. I'm confused as well by the contention that a unit raised with an IRISH contingent and reflecting those influences on South Africa has anything to do with the Scots BoonDock (talk) 21:58, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
