  1. Is it reasonably well written?
I'd unwikilink at least one of 'robot' and 'pirates' in the lead, if not both
    Unlinked robots.
What's the difference between Chaos and Sol emeralds? I note even the linked article doesn't answer this question.
The Sol Emeralds are basically Blaze's world's version of Chaos Emeralds. I've clarified this.
"can boost using a" - what does 'boost' mean exactly? Perhaps say 'boost speed', assuming that's the case.
    Yeah. Clarified.
"an "S" rank is the best, while a "C" is the worst" - is this worth mentioning? I'd drop it.
I usually mention it; it's pretty much a staple of the series and reviewers often note it.
    I'd wikilink 'stylus'
    Done.
"such as songs in the Sound Test mode" - I'm assuming the Sound Test mode is an area exclusively used to listen to these songs? Consider explaining this somehow. Keep in mind you don't have to specify the name 'Sound Test', you can just describe what the mode does
    Reworded a bit.
"the true ending will be unlocked" - I know what you mean, but non-gamers might not. Perhaps reword somehow, like 'an extended ending is unlocked'. Incidentally what's the difference between the two?
Reworded. Clarified that it unlocks an extra boss.
You describe it once as a "giant robot" then the second time as a "mech"; I wouldn't use this second term as its less well known, or if I did I'd link it to Mecha
    Removed the instance of mech.
"inspired by adventure novels, television programs, and films" - can you mention what some of these were? It's a bit vague, and i'd question whether it's appropriate to mention in the lead accordingly
The director didn't give the exact pieces that inspired the game, he just said books/movies. I've trimmed the lead a bit.
"used the same game engine used to create Sonic Rush" - does this engine have a name?
No, it's just an engine Dimps uses to make Sonic games (Rush, Colors, and Sonic 4 all use it). I'm now callinf it "underlying technology".
"the 2006 reboot" - I'd consider rewording this. It's written as if the reader knows about it. I'd suggest something like 'in the wake of the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog reboot, which was critically derided, ...
    Reworded.
"In fact, GameSpot felt" - I'd drop 'In fact'
    Done.
"As Nintendo World Report put it, the story was tedious, slow, and uninteresting, expressing relief the cutscenes could be skipped" - I think there's a problem with syntax here. How about 'According to Nintendo, who expressed relief the cutscenes could be skipped, the the story was tedious, slow, and uninteresting'
    Reworded.
"IGN felt it was definitely a game worth buying and that it offered good game design ideas" - I'd drop the second use of the word 'game'
    Done.
"As Games Master wrote," - I'm not a fan of this choice of words; it strikes me as if it's trying to convey the opinion as fact. I'd say 'According to Games Master, or something a bit more neutral
    Reworded.
