Etymology of sorabe[edit]

What is the evidence that sorabe comes from Arabic 'sura'? malagasyword.org lists the root as soratra 'writing', which looks like it's cognate with Malay surat 'writing', indicating an Austronesian origin. 2603:8001:64F0:30:6125:FE7C:6E40:ACAF (talk) 03:15, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
