MukiEX (talk) 23:58, 22 May 2009 (UTC) Shouldn't this be part of the Soul Calibur IV article? It's essentially SCIV without Star Wars characters (which amount to 2-3 characters, depending on whether you got the DLC package for the 3rd), and possibly some improvement to character creation.[reply]

Birras (talk) 03:22, 5 September 2009 (UTC)It seems to me that it is too early to tell exactly how similar the two games will be until a demo or beta comes into play. From what I understand, the tutorial system in Broken Destiny will be radically different, the Trials mode seems to be new, albeit derivative of Arcade mode, and the unlockable titles appear to bring something new to Quick Match mode.[reply]

Untitled[edit]

...What are you talking about? The game's already out. It's an updated SC4 with different modes and a few characters swapped around (SW & bonus characters gone, Dampierre and Kratos in). There's nothing "radically different" if the core gameplay is the same.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:25, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

jordanlund (talk) I own both SC:IV and SC:BD and after playing the PSP title for the past few hours I think I can talk intelligently about it. The Quick Match mode has no equivalent in SC:IV. When you enter it it gives you a choice of 8 different computer generated opponents as opposed to standard SC characters. Each round presents you with a different selection of computer generated opponents. The character construction kit is similar to SC:IV, but that feature was originally implemented in III so if you're going to have different pages for III and IV then the creation kit shouldn't be used to fold BD in with IV. As others have noted, there are two new characters in BD, Kratos and Dampierre, neither of whom have been in any console version. Gauntlet mode is a mission based story mode like the old Edge Master mold, superficially similar to the Tower of Lost Souls mode in SC:IV, but the latter feels more like a survival type mode rather than a story type mode.

In short, it shares some characters with SC:IV and a couple of finishing moves, but otherwise is a totally different game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jordanlund (talkcontribs) 06:17, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why aren't any reviews up in the reception section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.167.11.166 (talk) 18:47, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dampierre[edit]

Any new info on him yet (aside that he can spank his opponents as an attack...)? 142.26.194.190 (talk) 01:36, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Story?[edit]

Does Soul Calibur Broken Destiny feature a storyline or is it the same as Soul Calibur 4? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.213.45.24 (talk) 20:15, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
