Presumably it used to be explicitly mentioned because of the great variety of sound effects and huge dynamic and durational range capable on the shakuhachi depending on how you blow on the edge at what angle for how hard for how long. Hyacinth (talk) 01:05, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
