I say this is one very relevant entry due to the fact that the series was heavily promoted on TV for over a decade, and that is was one of the first compilations of its nature to have reached a widespread commercial audience, unlike limited vinyl compilations of 60's or 50's music that came before (but didn't reach saturation like this one did.) It can also be stated that the timing gave the decade's music a new audience that didn't grow up on the radio a generation before, which stands as a significant feat. As the first and most prominent compilation series on the compact disc format and given its well regarded sampling of the genera, The SOTS series deserves recognition in any 1970's rock history discography. 99.32.160.175 (talk) 21:13, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
