As I explained - there is no copyright violation in this page. The initial bot detected my first edit which I just copied and pasted to get started, which has been substantially edited so that there is no copyright violation. Furthermore, I am an employee of the Sousa Archives and Center for American Music!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nlenstr2 (talkcontribs) 19:48, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Status and advice[edit]

To use material from the University web pages, you must explicitly license the rights to the material according to our licensing using the CC-BY-SA and the GNU licenses, as explained in WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:Donating copyrighted materials ; be aware that these give everyone in the world an irrevocable license to reuse and alter the material, even for commercial purposes. However, even if you give us such permission, the material is unlikely to be suitable for an encyclopedia.

As reviewing administrator, since I am very well awareof the importance of the Center, I rewrote the material in a more appropriate fashion. In addition to removing any possible copyvio, I aimed for directness, conciseness, avoidance of duplication, and a less institutional tone. informality. I removed directory information--hours and directions belong on the web page, not an encyclopedia. What certainly can be added is more detailed information about the collections. In particular, any highlights that are subjects of Wikipedia articles should be mentioned, and linked--these would include manuscripts of notable works of music with individual articles here.

Additionally, you need to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. It should not be difficult to find such references, but they must be added.

I've worked here with similar articles before, and if I can offer you any assistance or advice, please let me know. DGG ( talk ) 05:28, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
