You have misunderstood the text on Warwickshire Railways website. The station itself remained open to general goods for a few months longer than other stations on the Weedon & Leamington line but the line (at least the section from Marton Junction to the bridge carrying the Stockton to Itchington lane several hundred yards east of the cement works) remained open for a further twenty-odd years. Freight traffic to and from the cement works passed through the site of the station until the summer of 1985, sometimes consisting of a dozen or so standard BR steel 12-ton mineral wagons, sometimes a mix of vans and wagons, usually an LMS pattern brake van and a Sulzer Type 2 loco (TOPS Class 24) although there are photos of Brush Type 2 locos (TOPS Class 31) on this turn.
