"Southern Australia" as used in Victoria generally refers to the Aussie Rules states - it doesn't include NSW, and includes northern WA. It's rarely used though. I imagine the term is mainly used in Queensland, referring to the parts of Australia that aren't Queensland or Queensland-like. "Southern Australian Airlines" was a shortlived Qantas subsidiary that operated in Victoria, Tasmania and SA IIRC. matturn 11:28, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
