Excellent Health?

The article states that both kosmonauts were rescued in 'excellent health'. Yet, the article about Lazaryev states that he was injured. 62.87.244.55 (talk) 14:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Abort sequence

I believe the article should be updated to show the abort sequence for the Soyuz 18a mission originated with a crew request, rather than a sensor. Certainly the sensor-generated abort story was officially issued to the press by Russian authorities, however, it may be worthwhile stating that it was 'a' story that was issued.

The flight was both not a disaster and can only marginally be called a failure. Certainly the crew didn't carry out the mission objectives, however the crew and the ground controllers were at all times in control of the spacecraft. If they wanted to continue with the mission into space, there is nothing I can find that suggests they were unable to do so. Makarov, decided he didn't want to continue, and told the ground controllers to abort the mission, due to the design of the craft at that time, the crew could not abort a mission from within the craft, it had to be done from the ground control. Makarov was an experienced cosmonaut and also helped to design the craft he was flying at the time, so I think it's worth updating the page, as it is all available somewhere or other.....Makarov probably erred on the side of caution because of vibrations he felt. However, it's beyond me which decision would have been better, as the landing caused an injury to his crewmate, and who knows if the craft would have reached orbit anyway.
