Relationship to "Spenser: For Hire"[edit]

This film is based on the book "Wonderland" by Ace Atkins, which features Spenser (character). Atkins took over writing about this character from now-deceased author Robert B. Parker. Both the film and the 1980s TV show Spenser: For Hire are based on Parker's original work. Both the film and TV show are based in Boston, feature a detective named Spenser, and a partner named Hawk. I think this connection should be highlighted in the article.
