Opinions on article

should be a redirect to Spin (physics). --Whosyourjudas (talk) 03:49, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I agree. This could be a candidate for deletion. linas 03:51, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Disagree, spin quantum number should be by itself so it can be singled out for areas such as spectroscopy. LaudanumCoda 14:59, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

I also disagree. Having a separate article can be very useful, particularly for beginners. -- Astrochemist 18:05, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Would it not be more technically correct to refer to this as the spin projection quantum number? --Wake chaser (talk) 10:18, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

At one point it says that there are 2s+1 possible values for spin, but there would only be 2s possibilities for half integer cases, I believe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.45.199.168 (talk) 02:36, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

Rationale and editing

I disagree with the above comments from 2004 and 2005. Electron spin is such an important topic in chemistry that users (especially beginning students) could use an introductory article devoted to the concept. By all means have a more-advanced entry for spin, but please leave something for the novices who flock to Wikipedia in search of accurate, readable information. -- Along these lines, I tried to edit one part of this particular article, to improve the accuracy and flow and to remove redundancies, but I found it difficult. A careful, critical editing is needed. -- Astrochemist 03:20, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
