Windows[edit]

This game is out for PC too, isn't it? 19:33, 19 May 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.101.199.145 (talk)

Name[edit]

It's developed by a US company, published by a US company, and was published in the US two months before it got released anywhere else. So why isn't it at the US name? We do this for games published by European companies. The only reason I can think of the article not being at the correct name is that some misguided European editor wants it at the European name. It should be moved ASAP. 75.95.17.145 (talk) 01:01, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's developed by Black Rock, a studio in Brighton, England. Also, as far as I know, it's published as "Velocity" everywhere apart from in the US so it's a more common name. Hope that's not too "misguided" for you? :) Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 06:55, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And by two months, you mean three days, right? 62.56.92.254 (talk) 01:53, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What is the deal with name though? Actually in-game, the name is clearly just Split Second. It's only on the packaging that "Velocity" shows up. Was it an afterthought about Split Second becoming a potential franchise? Cardinal Wurzel (talk) 21:07, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not all racing Wheels are compatible with the Split Second game. Please check with the publisher for which Racing Wheel is compatible with the game.

Not done Wikipedia is not a game guide. SpigotMap 19:09, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Further to this, the 3rd paragraph of the gameplay section reads very much like a game guide. Is there a way to rephrase this without including details of all the game modes - or perhaps it should just be replaced with a list of them? Cpl Syx [talk] 19:38, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PC Version download only? Says who?[edit]

"The PC version of Split Second: Velocity is only available as a download from Gamesplanet in the UK and on Steam"... uhm... I am perfectly able to buy a boxed DVD case version of this off Amazon in Germany. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.17.204.216 (talk) 22:12, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think it means in the UK. There doesn't seem to be a boxed copy available in UK shops. Geoff B (talk) 22:19, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PSP[edit]

A PSP version has been announced, and the page is locked for editing. Could someone go and add that to the list along with IGN's page as a reference? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.93.187.174 (talk) 21:30, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: requests for changes to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection.. Also, please, read WP:NPOV and WP:COI. Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 15:33, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of important information[edit]

Someone deleted a post I saw yesterday involving the ending of Split Second. Why didn't they leave it up? 66.32.45.84 (talk) 12:29, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Needs a reliable source to support it. There is no controversy over the ending, just some people complaining on gaming forums. Geoff B (talk) 12:50, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article accuracy[edit]

One point in particular: aeroplane crashes. Having completed this game I can safely say there was not one single aeroplane crash. Lots of explosions and parts being flung around, but no actual 'plane falling from the sky. My version is for PC - is the game not the same across all distribution formats? Cpl Syx [talk] 19:34, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is indeed a plane crash. Have a look at this video for example. I imagine the console and PC versions are the same. Chimpanzee+ Us | Ta | Co 19:56, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for the video link - it explained a lot. The level in question is "Airport Terminal" and you're absolutely correct; there is indeed a plane crash. What isn't clear is that it requires two level 2 power plays - one to change the course and the second to summon the plane. As it appears in the video that both are summoned by AI rather than the player, it took me a few runs to figure it out. Having never done both before in a race, I'd not seen the plane crash before. I stand corrected! Cpl Syx [talk] 00:44, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
