Football[edit]

SFCC Football was start with Dwight Pool. He started the football program at Spokane Falls Community College in 1967.Dwight Pool Hall of Fame John Buck (deceased): Buck began his career at Spokane Community College in 1971 as an instructor in physical education classes and as the first Men's Cross Country and Track Coach. As the Men's Cross Country Coach from 1971-75, Buck won four AACC/NWAACC titles in five years, including one perfect score (15) in the league championship. As the Head Men's Track Coach from 1972 to 1982, he won 10 AACC/NWAACC Championship titles that included more than 66 individual conference champions and three Olympic athletes. His track coaching record at SCC is unequaled in NWAACC history. Buck also played a major role in the football program as an assistant coach for five years and then as head coach in 1987 until football was dropped from the NWAACC in 1989. He retired from CCS in June of 1998 to work on his ranch in Colbert, Washington.'Bold text' Bob Everson (deceased): Assistant Football and Basketball Coach, Cheney High School, 1959; Head Football Coach, Cheney, 1960-63; Assistant Football, Head Wrestling, and Golf Coach, Yakima Valley College, 1964-67; Head Football and Golf Coach, Yakima Valley, 1968-72; Assistant Football Coach, University of Washington 1971-74; Head Golf Coach, CCS, 1976-86; first in state, 1979; Head Football Coach, CCS, 1974-88, league champions, 1984; co-champions, 1985; NWAACC Co-Coach of the Year, 1985; won four Regional Championships, two NWAACC Championships. Bob served 23 years as the Football Sports Committee Chairman, three terms. Bob was an outstanding PE instructor and coach at the community college level. Dwight Pool: Head Football Coach at Spokane Falls from 1967 to 1974, finishing with a 52-21-1 record. During that time his teams earned three league championships (1968, 1973, and 1974). The 1968 team has the only undefeated season on record at SFCC. Dwight coached five years at Columbia Basin College with a 40-3-2 record, winning four league championships between1962-1965. Combining both records, he has coached more championship teams than any other coach in the NWAACC.
