Synonymy[edit]

@Plantdrew: I think this is too simple. I see both of the synonyms' genera are valid and distinct, and that the species is listed at one of the two. I think your expertise is required here to sort this out. - UtherSRG (talk) 11:13, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@UtherSRG:, sorted. Calamovilfa isn't "valid" ("valid" is a zoology term; "validly published" is a botany term, but it has a different meaning than the zoology term); according to POWO (among other references), Calamovilfa is a synonym of Sporobolus. Wikipedia needs some updating to reflect the status of Calamovilfa as a synonym (including moving species articles). At this point, just about any plant genus article with a manual taxobox is a regarded as a synonym in recent sources. I'm slowly working my way through remaining plant genera with manual taxoboxes, but it takes some work to update the species articles as well. Plantdrew (talk) 04:38, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
