Why no mention of boxing?[edit]

I understand it's meant to be quite big there? Supposedly getting ratings similiar to that of the national football team

Germany at the Olympics[edit]

There is an obvious problem with counting here. Before WW2, Germany took part in the Olympic Games, after first the United Team of Germany, then both countries as separate teams, then after 1990 again Germany. Now which counts do which of the results from the article include? Is East Germany (or West-) only the count from Olympics where East Germany took part, or does it also add in the games where Germany (and the United team) took part? Not to mention that the ranks given are different to those in the respective articles Summer Olympics medal count & Winter Olympics medal count. Lars T. 17:36, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Handball[edit]

What about handball? --91.32.121.243 (talk) 14:52, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Handball is mentioned in the article, if you want to expand, please do so. Lars T. (talk) 13:22, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

too much ado about rugby[edit]

a lot of space for rugby, too much for such an (from a German POV) exotic unimportant minor sport —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.164.206.109 (talk) 20:15, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Howcome no mention of Field Hockey? Germany have won a few world cups?

Icehockey second?[edit]

there is no way icehockey is the second most popular- I read the german version of this- it is becoming increasingly popular, but it never stated its the number two. You have to give a brilliant resource to convience me. (Boekholt gregori (talk) 08:18, 5 June 2010 (UTC)) since no one was bothered to do anything I changed it Boekholt gregori (talk) 07:54, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

handball is definatly bigger in Germany (as a whole), that might be different in traditinal ice hockey areas — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.5.184.243 (talk) 08:30, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The arrangement of the sections here is highly questionable. I'll resort it according to the "Sport" section of the German de:Deutschland article. -- Horst-schlaemma (talk) 22:03, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Chess[edit]

Could chess really be considered a sport in most traditional senses? 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 12:57, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Chess is not a real sport it shouldn't be in any sport focused article, should remove. Werymash (talk) 21:09, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
