Scences at St. Johann[edit]

there is no notice found in your reference that it had been casted even in St. Johann. Werfen is not St. Johann and even not Rossfeld. As I handle the bus at Salzburg going around to all locations of the film I am quite sure that St. Johann never has been a place in "Sound of Music". Mosaico 06:07, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, that's why I clarified that it was in Werfern, a few kilometers to the north of St. Johann. My reasoning is that I'll be visiting St. Johann from the US in a month or so, and was very intrigued to find out the Werfen thing when learning about St. Johann. However, Werfen is a small enough town that I never would have thought to look at its Wikipedia article. Since the St. Johann article is more likely to be visited by people in the future, I don't think including the reference to the Sound of Music filming location a little bit north in Werfen is a big deal. I'll try to clarify this more in the article. And maybe I'll see you in Salzburg!--TrustTruth 18:30, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome at any time! Neither St. Johann nor Werfen itself are worth to be visited but nearby Werfen the castle Hohenwerfen! The traces of the Sound-of-Music-film are mainly founded in the city of Salzburg or closed surrounding area as well as in the lake district Salzkammergut. Enjoy your stay in Austria! Werfen is NOT St. Johann[edit]

Please note that St. Johann is apprx. 60 km far away from Salzburg and Werfen is approx. 20 km far away from St. Johann and 40 km from Salzburg. It is not correct to mention under St. Johann scences of the film "Sound of Music"! Therefore I will clear again. Mosaico 10:26, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From an American perspective, St. Johann is the major city in that area, therefore it is appropriate for that article to be a gathering spot for snippets about smaller villages nearby. I do not see what the big deal is. It is entirely appropriate for this to be mentioned in this article, as I don't know any American who is going to go straight to the Werfen article out of nowhere. St. Johann is known in America; Werfen is not. As these events took place near St. Johann, and the St. Johann article is where people are most likely to peruse, I am leaving the paragraph in. Please feel free to expand on the sound of music thing at the Werfen article as well. --TrustTruth 13:11, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
