Prior Andrew of Wyntoun, author of the 15th century historical work called Oryginalle Cronykil of Scotland ... Andrew also recorded a number of tales that were re-appeared four centuries later in William Shakespeare's 'Scottish Play'...
MacBeth was performed in the 17th century (estimated first performance 1606). This would have been two centuries later rather than four.
