Remove disambiguation

This page needs long descriptions to differentiate what the terms mean in English, as they are spelled very similarly but mean different things in both languages. As such, this isn't a disambiguation page per WP:MOSDAB. More should be added from the German Wikipedia article also. Strange sentence

"A Landesbibliothek can be a Staatsbibliothek, if it has legal deposit." What is that supposed to mean? Whether a regional library is called Landes- or Staatsbibliothek has nothing to do with legal deposit. The libraries called Staatsbibliothek are in Bavaria, Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg and the former Prussian areas, they are called that way either for historical reasons or because someone felt "Staatsbibliothek" sounded better than "Landesbibliothek" (like the SLUB, which has the "Staats-"name only since the 2000s). Yes you're right it is unclear I was in the middle of editing when you commented - see if the current article is clearer. It appears tho that all Staatsbibliotheks are legal deposit institutions, and not all are from the Prussian areas (i.e. BSB). Even little Bamberg has legal deposit, although for an odd area like "Upper Franconia". Feel free to edit further - re: Saxony I just couldn't say "they named it that way cuz it sounded good" even tho that may be true :) --Ultracobalt (talk) 20:59, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

The Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin has no legal deposit (legal deposit for Berlin is elsewhere, see de:Pflichtexemplar#Ablieferung), nor has the university and state library in Göttingen. Both only receive free copies of Amtsdrucksachen (publications of the state). Upper Franconia is not an odd area, it is one of the Regierungsbezirke in Bavaria (de:Regierungsbezirk). There is a legal deposit library for each of these Regierungsbezirke in addition to the Bavarian State Library in Munich, which is the legal deposit library for the whole of Bavaria. This means there are two legal deposit copies of each book in Bavaria, one at the Bavarian State Library, the other at the regional legal deposit library. --Rosenzweig (talk) 22:27, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
