SS-Standarte "Germania"[edit]
The defeat at the hand of Polish troops needs to be worked through. Polish legends about completely wiping out the entire regiment and unsourced counter-claims don't help. It seems that the Polish bayonet night attack did wipe out one battalion out of three, and the Poles captured the equipment of the entire motorised regiment, but without a reliable source this is no more than one of several narratives. Largely unsourced article[edit]
Is Yerger's "Allgemeine-SS: The Commands, Units, and Leaders of the General SS" the source of all those many unsourced sections and paragraphs? German Wiki seems to accept the method of indicating a book under "Bibliography" and citing from it w/o inline citation tags next to each section taken from that book, but this is not acceptable on English Wiki. So the result is an annoyingly undersourced article one cannot properly trust, full-heartedly link in other articles, or –last not least– continue editing. Arminden (talk) 22:39, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
@Mach1988: hi, I see this is your baby. Did you translate it from a German source? There is no article precisely on this topic on German Wiki, so my previous supposition is wrong (re. German Wiki accepting sources w/o inline citation tags). Could you please address the issue? If the currently unsourced sections are based on the Yerger book, the page numbers would be needed, and I do realise that that's a lot of work and it may put you off, 3 years after working through it. So you have my sympathy, but it would be great to have the sources. Just as an example: a lot of Polish pages are mentioning the SS-Standarte "Germania", and having access to the sources would help a lot with sorting out legends & propaganda from both sides.
