Game importance[edit]

Is this game unimportant? (topic posted due to previous tag.)

Oppose I do not agree that this is of no importance. i think this game is extremely significant, being one of the few additions to the Star trek genre which truly catpures a realistic view of starhsip command. from sm 8900 --Sm8900 22:30, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Added a Modifications section, giving a brief outline of the game's modding capabilities, plus links to the modding community. Should the subject be expanded? User:Kt'Hyla 06/11/18

I also Oppose the proposed unimportance of the game, it hasn't been supplanted by anything else in it's genre under the Star Trek franchise, despite the release of a number of ST space sims since it's own release. The only detriment to the game is it's age, detracting to it's availability and potential compatability. User:Kt'Hyla 06/11/18

Player community[edit]

Could anyone please tell me what are some of the more active sites right now for interactions between Klingon Academy players? i would be interested in sites which allow player interaction and discussion, as well as sites which offer various software resources, such as modules, patches, etc. thanks.

Player community question: the community hub you're looking for (provided you haven't run into it yet)is the forum community at klingonacademy.com. The majority of resources for the game can be linked to, if not outright hosted on, that site.User:Kt'Hyla 07/02/26

Programs used for modding[edit]

Clarified on the necessity (and rarity) of the particular version of LW regired for modding the game (5.6), while game models can be loaded and edited in later versions of LW, the game won't accept models saved from later versions of LW. (forgot to post the reason for the edit in the edit screen). Later versions of LW can be used to build the models then exported to LW5 format, but 5.6 is still required to re-save the model so the game will recognize it. User:Kt'Hyla 07/02/26

Significance[edit]

This section is absolutely not NPOV. Wikipedia isn't a home for editorials. Either it needs to be almost completely rewritten and referenced, or removed. It's almost totally opinion and I disagree with most of it actually. That's why opinion doesn't belong on Wikipedia. --Swaaye 21:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I reworked it and removed as much POV/opinion as I could. Please let me know if it's intolerable in some way. :) --Swaaye 21:08, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
seems pretty good! thanks for your constructive help on this. see you. --Sm8900 14:18, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Klingon acad3.jpg[edit]

Image:Klingon acad3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Protection[edit]

I've just fully protected this page for one day because of the edit warring. Please discuss the issue here instead of continually reverting, see WP:BRD for details. You may also want to consider dispute resolution (WP:DR). Mark Arsten (talk) 15:58, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the info per WP:NOT#GUIDE. That is to say that that Wikipedia is not an instructional manual. What also applies here is WP:V, or more specifically, WP:OR. It's original research sourced to a fansite. If mention of these fixes/patches was to be included, they'd need to have received coverage by a reliable, third-party source. That's the reasoning behind my edits in a nutshell. Eik Corell (talk) 16:28, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The section being added by the IP editor is not referenced to a reliable source and therefore does not belong on the article per WP:V. --Odie5533 (talk) 22:13, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
