Cancellation[edit]

The game is officially cancelled. Though anyone with sense knew that back in September when JoWood pulled their greed act.

Firstly, I added the {{cleanup-date}} because of the haphazard nature of the stylature of the article. It certainly needs some work. Secondly, the game having been cancelled: if we start from the assumption that it will remain cancelled, how long after the initiaion of the "petition" (as now mentioned in the article) should it be considered non-noteworthy and the article ultimately removed? — THOR =/\= 17:39, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know that it's fairly common knowledge on the internet that the game is close to death if not actually dead, but is there any official statement saying it has been cancelled? I notice the official website doesn't say anything in that regard (not that that means much, seeing as how it hasn't been updated for half a year now). Also, the article will probably remain noteworthy for a while, with the Stargate MMO in the works (and thus it will get mention from that article) - Kuhan
I edited the page to reflect it's possible cancellation status, until someone can provide an official statement saying it has been canceled.Kuhan 21:54, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The game is officaly canceled, as i employ 3 of the ex staff members, and the rest have moved onto other Australian developers. This statment may prove false if MGM / JoWood move the IP to some one new, but at this point in time, SG:TA is no longer in production. --Amckern 16:00, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question if the game is cancelled then why does the primary link to perception media show it as a current project??? danieljackson 17:07, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since the game has been cancelled, I hardly think it necessary to keep the information about weapons and multiplayer gametypes. I'll be deleting them. 60.241.169.85 12:54, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From what i've know the evidence of the game including the data files have both been erased by the company, and not to mention i've tried countless times to access the Stargate SG1: The Alliance website but nothing appears so it may seem that the game itself has been shut-down. Move[edit]

The current title is silly - why have a denomination when you can have a TITLE? who says there wont be 2 videogames?-- Alfakim --  talk  02:05, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I say we move the article to the proper title and make the page a disambiguation for this and the MMO game. --waffle iron 03:22, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

However, it is available on Wallmart to Ship on September 9th, 2006!!

Please note that Perception (Developers) are being aquired by a marketing company, or so their site says.

Deletion[edit]

Do not delete this page yet, MGM have yet to release infomation about the cancelation of the game. If they say that it is cancelled by all means delete it, but please wait until then. Thanks --Mollsmolyneux 20:28, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed both tags because I have improved article a lot. Please feel free to criticise my changes as there was no infomation to tell be what was wrong with the article.--Mollsmolyneux 21:14, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought you added alot of nice info, Mollsmolyneux :) .. Also, I do not think the article should be deleted at all, no matter what happens (game cancelled or not), this shows a piece of history... Just my thoughts...

Due to the legal battles there may not be any clear proof, but the officiol Moderator of the games website claimed it was cancelled 1, so I think this shoud be deleted/ significantly reworded. Cactusrob 13:36, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've attempted to reword the article, and see no reason why it should be deleted. There is a Canceled Superman films for example. Cactusrob 16:49, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to my knowledge, all evidence of the computer game has been erased upon cancellation, although some users recommend erasing the article, in my opinion it should be archived for future reference, just as a precaution in case any game industry company's decide to re-make it, and then if there's any word on it's released we should re-upload it with updated information. Dead link[edit]

During several automated bot runs the following external link was found to be unavailable. Please check if the link is in fact down and fix or remove it in that case!

Fair use rationale for Image:News sg1.jpg[edit]

Image:News sg1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
